Jeordie White of A Perfect Circle
Drives: 2004 Subaru Baja
You'll have to excuse A Perfect Circle bassist Jeordie White if he seems a bit unfamiliar with his car. He just got it. "Yeah, it's brand spankin' new," he says, admiring his ride. "I used to have a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, but I just got rid of it, because it was too cool, and I looked too cool in it. And since your car defines you in Los Angeles- and this is sporty but rugged, cute and fun, and has room for my friends- I just thought this worked with me much better."
It also doesn't hurt that the Subaru Baja is something of a chick magnet. "Yeah, if you pick up a nice young lady in this thing," the bassist formerly known as Twiggy Ramirez concedes, "your chances of getting lucky are much better then if you had a Mercedes."
Its's also good, he adds, for going around icognito. "People don't really recognize you in a car like this," he says. "And even when your friends see you in it, they're not sure if you're kidding or not. It also has a sunroof, though I like to call it a moonroof, since I like to drive at night, listening to Rupert Holmes' 'Escape (the Pina Colada Song).' "
Beyond all that, White explains, the Baja is practical. "It's just big enough to carry a bass and maybe an amp." he says. "I didn't want to get a big truck, because then you become the guy who has to lug the band's equipment around."
FIRST CAR: Datsun station wagon
DREAM CAR: Big Foot
{Meh. I typed this all up. Maybe I will try and get the picture up of him and his car. I have it!}
